adopted

I want to share a video my friend Sasha told me about. I can hardly contain myself when I watch it. To think I am not only my parent's adopted child, but an adopted child of God's, it just floors me. Enjoy!

Cat Attack

There I am, minding my own P's & Q's (Did you know that means minding your own pints and quarts? People at the bars in the old days would say to mind your own pints and quarts instead of butting into other people's business. Closet Genius at work!)... back to my story. So there I am on a walk with Moka in our green space. I'm done with the real walk, this is the fun run around time. I'm heading up the lawn and I hear a loud barking dog and see him hauling out of his house toward us. I was sure he was going to scale the fence and eat Moka and have me for dessert. Nope, he was all bark and stayed in the yard. Whew! I then notice a black cat laying low in the yard next to it. Oh, he's just hiding out, we're good. No sooner did I think that than this cat came tearing after Moka. She's freakin' out running for her life, the cat was relentless. I'm screaming NO, NO!! Then it decides I'll get you, you crazy screamer. It turns and runs at me full force, grabs my leg and digs in. I'm screaming again, GET OFF!!!! Hmmm, 2 screen doors open and nobody comes to help. I finally shake the thing off and yell, Whose cat is this? Then I decide to run for my life. Moka and I took off for home and that is where I fell apart.

I called Scott at church and told him what happened. Not something he expected to hear, ever.  After discovering some serious cuts I cleaned it up and went to urgent care. That is where I got a tetnis shot, was scrubbed up, bandaged and got a perscription for an antibiotic. I also had to fill out paperwork for animal control - good! Scott got the kids early from church and met me there. When we got home he went over to the owner and they felt terrible. Now that I think about it, I did hear someone scream. I just thought it was kids playing.

I started taking pictures for the crime scene investigation, ha. Then it hit me, BLOG! Enjoy!

At approximately 7:43 I was attacked by a cat.
I then came home at 7:48 to investigate.

Tears came fast when I saw this!

Blood drug by your pant leg always looks worse than it is. I cried some more.

The nurse said, "Oh, was it your cat?" NO! I hate cats and this sealed the deal. I got nothing from her, apparently she likes cats. I didn't make a fast friend. She lightened up later though when she was filling me in on just how ferocious cats can be. Comforting.

Sweet.

How annoying when all I wanted was to take Moka on a walk.

But then I think, it could have been the dog. He would have taken my arm, so this is better.

My fan club. Reagan said I just need to stay home on these nights. The last church night they got out early was because I got in an accident. Of course the details relayed to the kids on this meant I was a shredded mess. Scott and I have some communication issues to iron out.

Now I'm on meds so I don't get cat cooties.

I went to see if the cat wripped my fave workout pants and it did. Then look what I found, evidence. His nail was in my pants.

At about 10:50 last night we got a knock on the door. Our neighbor, who we didn't know prior to this, stopped by to appologize. She had tears in her eyes, I know she felt horrible. I think we'll be friends.

Moral of the story? There isn't one. But it just confirmed my loath of cats. Now it may have turned into a fear. Great.

Cute side note: On the way home Tennison told me it was a good thing it wasn't a canine that got me, he would have held on and it would have just bled and bled. I said, "If a dog is a canine, what is a cat?" Um, a K-8? How stinkin' cute is that? He knows K-9 from cop cars.

Spring Break Photo Album

Here is a look at our Spring Break in Arizona. We had a blast while we visited my parents in their snowbird state of mind! They were the for February and March, we'll see them soon again.

Breakfast in the car on our way out of town.

The mom is the one who crawls to the back to fix movies and gets jabbed by small toys while trying to help. Scott uses his height to his advantage in these cases...
a built in reason not to do this.

Colorado

New Mexico... we're so close guys!

If there was enough room (and enough money) I would have taken this horse home with me. Reagan would have scooted over to make room in the van I'm sure.

Old Scottsdale

Whitney's new friend.

Mom's friend got a little fresh with her.

The Sugar Bowl, Grandpa Skip's favorite place... or wait, is it Nana's?
Now it is our's too.

They ate the whole thing. We all did!!

Ooops, you again? I would have given you a nice home.

There was a great area near their house with a fitness center, cafe, pool, bocci ball, pickle ball and more.

In one of the rooms they loan out puzzles, Whitney's heaven.
What will a girl grow up to be that can do a puzzle in record time
without looking at the picture on the box?

My dad's love of trains has rubbed off on Tennison. There is a group of volunteers who run this train a few mornings a week.

POOL TIME BABY!!

If ever you see me in a pool, that means it was really warm, more like hot. Otherwise, I'm the pool doer - get this, get that, adjust goggles... wimpy.

Scott was only able to stay for half of our AZ trip one year, didn't come the last time, this time he stayed the whole week. The kids were beside themselves when he said he'd be there!! These kids love their daddy!!!

In-N-Out was worth the 5 month wait - had it last in CA.
We even went twice... yikes!

A little crazy in the car after In-N-Out. I don't know if it was the flash going off in the dark, but we caused Dad to run a light... oops. There is a lot of grace in Sun City with the oldies!!

Golfing was Scott's highlight! He was able to do 18 holes with my dad and took Tennison to the driving range a couple of times. Those titanium hips and titanium driver have helped his game!

On our way out of town we saw at least 15 hot air balloons - what a sight!

Reagan trying to get her own bubble to float her home faster than a 15 hour car ride.

Storms 'a brewin' Betty!

Well, we did it! We made it in good time, safe and sound. We had a great week and made a lot of memories!  We couldn't asked for better weather too, it was beautiful. To have gone to California in the fall and Arizona in the spring makes us feel pretty lucky right about now. Thanks Mom & Dad for a fun week, you were so generous and such great hosts.

P.S. Blogging can make ones life look pretty perfect. But let me tell you a little secret: From the second we got in the car leaving our driveway, the kids were pills. Whitney was sick with a cold (sniffle, sniffle, cough, cough, blowing her nose, ug!), which didn't help. And the dreaded, How much longer? Shockingly it was totally different on the way home. So really, we are all just the same, but who wants to read a blog about the bummer stuff in life?

I LOVE March 20th

There are two major reasons to love this day. First, and most importantly, it is Tennison's birthday. He turned the big 7 at 12:44 a.m. We read through his baby book last night and were reminded that we were in the hospital 26 minutes before he was born. I know the nurse thought I was a crazy first-time-mom who was being dramatic. Nope, that would be third time mom who didn't have much time, so STEP ON IT! We didn't know what (who) we were having with all 3 kids, so either way Scott and I decided it would be: Oh my word, another girl! Or, Oh my word a boy!! We are so thankful to have Tennison.

The second reason to love today is that it is the first day of Spring. Tennison was 2 full weeks overdue and so for all the March 21st birthdays who claim that is the first day of spring, we claim today because I needed that little reward on top of a healthy baby! There isn't much sign of Spring today, except for a sunny day and warm temps ahead.

Eating on our It's My Day Let's Celebrate plate,
Tennison was eyeing the right birthday donut!

I think we sang Happy Birthday 4 times before we got it just right!!

On our way out from our second round of In-N-Out burgers in AZ, Scott noticed this buggy. Scott asked if Ten could get on it.  It was all souped up, so cool!

Missing another tooth!!

An Arizona birthday party, we've had a few of those. When he was 2 he stuck 2 kernels of corn up his nose while in AZ, that was fun... I was bound and determined not to go to the ER for kernels up the schnoz. So with a lot of digging and a flashlight, we got 'em out.

We got going this morning after our power breakfast of donuts and headed out to the park. The wind was blowing so we had to take our kites! What a blast!! Even getting Reagan & Ten's kites tangled was fun.

Lets go fly a kite, up to the heighest height!
Mary Poppins

At the top of this big hill there is a huge "crater".
The kids loved sliding down into it.

A little park time, a little March Madness time...

A lot of present time!

The big gift was a fishing pole, he's super excited to give it a go.

Oh... and some boxers... apparently for his head.

I LOVE this kid!!

Happy Birthday Tennison.
I couldn't love you any more than I do.
Well, maybe tomorrow I will.
