Royal Wedding Party

What a night ~ What a celebration ~ What fun

Right after Will & Kate were engaged I informed my family we would be having a Royal Wedding Party. They looked at me like I was a little nutty. I started ripping pictures out of magazine of W&K, along with articles about who would be in the wedding party. As April 29th drew closer I lost a little steam and thought maybe I was the only wing nut wanting some hoopla over it. I decided to call it off and I hear from the girls, "Really? We wanted a party." Well, then a party we'll have!!

We sent out Evites asking everyone to wear their most royal tiara, jewels, hat, gloves or whatever makes them feel like a princess or queen. I sent a disclaimer letting them know that gowns weren't necessary, that I in particular would not be dressing up. About an hour and a half before everyone showed up my friend Kendra calls. She says something along the lines of: "I'm wearing an old bridesmaids dress, because Nicole called and said she's wearing a bridesmaids dress, so you need to wear one." Talk about peer pressure... I dug up a musty smelling bridesmaids dress I saved for such a time as this.

Here is how the night went down...

Prepping our goodie bags! Whitney was a big help.

Everyone got a framed photo of W&K as well as chocolate cookies,
in honor of Will's chocolate biscuit groom's cake.

The Kissel Girls with Nicole & Addy Base.

I had to fast forward the DVR recording of the wedding to the good spots... I saw all these crazy hats, so I hurried and made my own. So funny!!

Red Carpet Arrival. Tennison and Luke left ASAP.

The Royals!

Practicing our most regal of waves.

The Royal Wedding treats. Everyone was so gracious with food and flowers.
The Blumhardt's even made the wedding mints.

Our youngest princesses...

Our next oldest...

And our oldest princesses, ready to take the throne. Bree (on the left) already thinks she will be winning Harry's heart, he just doesn't know it yet.

Just like us moms remember Charles & Diana's wedding,
these girls will always remember Will & Kate's.

See, we were really watching the wedding!

Here is to wishing Prince William and Catherine
a very Happily Ever After!

Baptism

Our little man decided a few months ago he wanted to get baptized. He attended a baptism class to learn the reason why we get baptized. He received some tangible items to remind him of the true purpose. They were a small salt shaker reminding him we are the salt of the earth, a candle representing we are the light of the earth, and a towel to remind us to be servants like when Jesus washed the disciples feet. He is so proud of these items and it helped make the concepts understandable for him.

Right before the baptisms started they showed videos of each person being baptized. They had the opportunity to tell us why they were being baptized. Tennison said it was because he wanted people to know that he loves God and he is his best friend.

On the big screen...

In front of the baptismal, just before heading back to baptize him.

Way to go buddy!!

Tennison wanted Scott to baptize him. He asked me to be in the tank too, I was so honored he asked!

We were also fortunate to have my sister and brother in town for it, as well as his Nana & Grandpa. It was a special evening.

*Thanks to Aunt Shelly for taking pictures!

Watch Dog

I don't think I was the only one traumatized by said cat attack, I think puppy girl has a little PTSD. Or shall I say Post Traumatic Cat Attack Disorder, PTCAD? She sits at the back door staring in the direction of the cat... the cat who is on a leash on her deck.

Moka, whatcha doin'?

Let me out! I'm looking for that cat through all my fur
and the mess I made on the window.

You have to love a watch dog!!

Teenager in the House!

How is it that I am the mother of a teenager? Most of the time I don't feel (or act) much older than one myself. But here we are, we have a 13 year old amongst us. Guess what? I really like her. She's kind, respectful, loves Jesus, loves her family, and is pretty funny. I've always said, I don't care if my kids are the smartest in class, I just want them to be kind and love Jesus. I think we're good.

We celebrated Friday night with her 3 closest friends. And guess what? I really like them too.

Bree, Reagan, Mykaila and Rylie at Spooners, their first stop after school.

Then off to get their nails painted!

The Birthday Girl

Home for dinner, 7 layer dip and Qdoba tacos. I also made her
favorite drink which she calls the Skittles Drink.

A bunch of wingnuts! They were singing happy birthday in French. We went to my parent's house for a slumber party, just us girls. Whitney and I slept sound while these yahoos didn't go to sleep until 2 a.m.

The party girls eating maple pecan scones for breakfast, yum!

Great friends ~ a great celebration!!

We celebrated on her birthday with presents, dinner out
at HuHot and strawberry shortcake!

This one loves whip cream!

Reagan Grace with the Pretty Face,
I'm so proud to be your mom!
I love you so much!!
