Royal Wedding Party

What a night ~ What a celebration ~ What fun

Right after Will & Kate were engaged I informed my family we would be having a Royal Wedding Party. They looked at me like I was a little nutty. I started ripping pictures out of magazine of W&K, along with articles about who would be in the wedding party. As April 29th drew closer I lost a little steam and thought maybe I was the only wing nut wanting some hoopla over it. I decided to call it off and I hear from the girls, "Really? We wanted a party." Well, then a party we'll have!!

We sent out Evites asking everyone to wear their most royal tiara, jewels, hat, gloves or whatever makes them feel like a princess or queen. I sent a disclaimer letting them know that gowns weren't necessary, that I in particular would not be dressing up. About an hour and a half before everyone showed up my friend Kendra calls. She says something along the lines of: "I'm wearing an old bridesmaids dress, because Nicole called and said she's wearing a bridesmaids dress, so you need to wear one." Talk about peer pressure... I dug up a musty smelling bridesmaids dress I saved for such a time as this.

Here is how the night went down...

I had to fast forward the DVR recording of the wedding to the good spots... I saw all these crazy hats, so I hurried and made my own. So funny!!

Just like us moms remember Charles & Diana's wedding,

these girls will always remember Will & Kate's.

So much fun! Who says you'll never wear your bridesmaid dress again?! :) My girls have been in their princess dresses ever since and are still talking about the wedding. Thanks so much for being a "hoopla" kind of girl!

40. Mother Son Amazing Race - July 17, 2011. I did it! I completed my final experience with my favorite little boy in the world! Ten and I had a blast!
39. Family Camp - July 1-3, 2011. What an experience for all of us! A 2 hour horse ride, archery, fishing, Theocaching, the mountain air!

31. Tennison was baptized - April 17, 2011. Tennison asked Scott to baptize him and for me to go in the tank with him. I was honored!

22. Snowshoeing at Bear Lake - February 19, 2011. The kids and I went last Christmas, Scott was still on crutches. This time we went as a family!
21. Placement of Baby-Joy - February 6, 2011. To witness the start of a family through adoption will go down as a highlight in my life.
20. Baby in the House! - January 2nd. What a JOY to have her here! Honored to be Cradle Care for her.
19. Photo with My Mom and Birth Mom - December 31st.
18. Met my half-brothers - December 28th. They drove out from Iowa to meet us.
17. Back on a horse - December 27th. I plan on getting back in the saddle, sore buns and all. I might even have to buy me some boots!
16. Celebrated my Adoption Finalization Day - December 19th. This was the first time to celebrate this momentous occasion. Now that I know the date, I'll be celebrating again.
15. Watched White Christmas on the big screen - December 19th. Oh the details we were able to see.
14. Took a CPR class with Scott - December 13th. In-home private lesson, fun!
13. Paid for someone's groceries - December 10th. I've always thought of doing something like this, now I have. It felt so good!
12. Yoga - December 6th. I downward facing dogged my way through. Namaste!
11. Black Friday - November 26th. We came, we shopped, we conquered!!
10. Started my blog - November 9th. I decided there is no time like the present!!
9. Hit & Run Car Accident - October 20th. This was not a bucket list item... never been in an accident, ever. This was not fun and not sure what even happened. Again, a short 2 days after Moka came home. Nobody in the car, just me. Good times, good times.
8. Getting the Puppy - October 18th. If you noticed, that is 2 short days after CA. We LOVE our Miss Moka Flo Kazoo. She is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. What a joy to have a dog again! She was worth the wait.
7. California Family Vacation - October 9-16th. I decided Disney was the happiest place on earth after all. We had a blast!! Tennison had never been to CA or the ocean, so it was magical for him. The ocean, the Hollywood sign, Disney, staying in downtown L.A... what memories!
6. Essay Contest for Real Simple Magazine - September 24th. Submitted my first ever essay for a contest. The topic: I never thought I'd... find my birth mom. Still don't know who won!
5. Disney Screening of Secretariat - September 23rd. Our church was invited to attend the screening for this amazing movie! It got me in the horse mood... old habits are hard to break.
4. Faith Day at the Rockies Game - August 15th. This was our last hoorah before school started - a charter bus to the Rockies game, a victory, and the Jeremy Camp concert. I'll just say it, he's AWESOME! We had a blast seeing him in concert at Coors Field.
3. MOOSE!!! - August 9th. On our way home from Steamboat we drove through Walden, the Moose Capitol of Colorado. If ever an animal I love, its the moose. Scott spotted the baby and turned around... her mommy showed up fast. I jumped in the car fast! It was such a thrill to see a moose in the wild.
2. Tubed the Yampa River in Steamboat - August 8th. We were on a family vacation, what a blast.
1. Biked the Boulder Creek Path - July 30th for my birthday. I lived in Boulder for 11 years and never did that.
