Afternoon Tea

While we were in Arizona my mom took us girls to an afternoon tea at the Phoenician Hotel. What a treat for all of us.

We arrived to the Phoenician a little early so we took in the sights from the patio.

Once we were seated it was a high tea indeed!!

The china place settings were beautiful.
Everything was so delicate and pretty.

We each got to order our own tea, Whitney chose orange spice.
The teapots had loose tea leaves giving us the full high tea experience.

After our tea was served, we were served each of the finger sandwiches... yum.

Then we had scones, buttermilk and cranberry... yummier!
They had lemon curd and strawberry jam. Speaking my language for sure.

To top it all off we had an amazing assortment of desserts.
The top right had edible gold on it, fun!

By this point we were all so full! Our server, Wanda, was a hoot. She said, "Look at your Grandmommy, she is so happy and proud. Where else can you get three generations in one place and all be happy?" She was right!

She came to offer us seconds on dessert, that was when Whitney shocked her. She asked for... another egg salad sandwich. Wanda was ready to grab something chocolate, but instead, "Oh, I was not expecting that." She brought her another sandwich... and the recipe!!

After the tea we went outside to tour the resort.
We found beautiful petals to put in our hair.

Crossing between two of their many pools!

A cactus garden.

Do you remember the movie Parent Trap? There is a line where the girl sniffs the grandpa and he asks, "What are you doing?" I'm making a memory. We spent a week sniffing, figuratively, to make memories. Thank goodness for infinite amounts of photos and memories to last a lifetime.

Thanks Mom, we sure made a great memory with you!
